---Hours and the Community Fund

# Using the Community Fund

Add hours to the shared Community Fund and grant them to members who need them.

---

The Community Fund is a shared pot of hours that belongs to your community, not to any one person. You can use it to support members who need more help than they can give back.

Open **Financial** in the admin menu and press **Community Fund** . At the top you see the **Current balance** , **Total deposited** , **Member donations** and **Total granted** .

## Adding hours to the fund

1. Under Deposit into fund, enter the Credit Amount.
2. Write a Reason. It is stored in the fund's history.
3. Press Deposit credits.

These hours are added to the fund. They are not taken from your own wallet.

## Giving hours from the fund

1. Under Grant from fund, find the member with Search Member.
2. Enter the Credit Amount. You can see how much is Available in fund.
3. Write a Reason.
4. Press Grant credits.

The hours go into the member's wallet and appear in their history. You cannot grant more than the fund holds.

## Members can give too

Members see the Community Fund on their [Wallet](/wallet) page. They can press **Donate** to give some of their own hours.

**Fund activity** lists every deposit, grant and donation.

Agree a simple rule with your team about who can receive hours from the fund and why. It keeps things fair.
