# How does someone become a broker?

A community admin gives the broker role from the admin panel. You then see the Broker Panel link.

Only a community admin can make someone a broker. You cannot ask for the role from your own account.

The admin opens the member's account in the admin panel. They set **Role** to **Broker** and save.

## After you become a broker

1. Sign in as usual.
2. Look at the bar at the top of the page. You now see Broker Panel.
3. Press Broker Panel to open it.

If you do not see the link, sign out and sign in again. If it is still missing, ask your admin to check your role.

## When the role ends

If you stop being a broker, ask your admin to change your role back to **Member** . The Broker Panel link then disappears. Your notes and decisions stay on record with your name.

Brokers who are also admins see the admin panel link instead. From inside the Broker Panel, admins also see **Full Admin Panel** at the bottom of the menu.
