# Changing language, dark mode and text size

Choose your language, switch between light and dark mode, and make text larger or clearer.

## Language

On a computer, press the language button in the thin bar at the top of the screen. It shows a short code, such as EN. On a phone, press **Menu** and use the language button near the bottom.

You can also open [Settings](/settings) , stay on the **Profile** tab, and use **Language Preference** .

Your choice is saved to your account, so it stays the same when you sign in on another device. The languages you can choose depend on your community.

## Light and dark mode

Open the menu under your name and press **Dark Mode** or **Light Mode** .

Or, in **Settings** on the **Profile** tab, find **Theme** and choose **Light** , **Dark** or **System** . **System** follows the setting on your device.

## Text size and other display options

In **Settings** , on the **Profile** tab, scroll down to **Appearance Preferences** . There you can:

- change the Font Size
- choose an Accent Color for buttons and links
- change the Layout Density, which is how much space there is between things
- turn on Large Text, High Contrast, Reduced Motion or Simplified Layout

**Reduced Motion** cuts down on animation. **Simplified Layout** removes decorative effects such as shadows and blur.
