# Starting, confirming and completing a group exchange

The organiser starts it, everyone confirms, then the organiser completes it.

## Starting (organiser)

Open the exchange and press **Start Exchange** . The status becomes **Pending Confirmation** . Every participant gets a notification and an email asking them to confirm.

If the hours do not balance, or a safety rule applies, the exchange does not start and a message explains why.

## Confirming (everyone taking part)

1. Open the exchange from the notification, or from the Needs Confirmation tab.
2. Check your role and hours in the participant list.
3. Press Confirm My Hours.

The **Confirmed** column shows who has confirmed. If the details change after you confirm, such as the hours or the people taking part, all confirmations are cleared and everyone needs to confirm again.

## Completing (organiser)

When everyone has confirmed, press **Complete Exchange** . Everyone's balance changes at the same time, and each payment appears in the wallet history of the people involved.

If anyone receiving time does not have enough time credits, the exchange does not complete and no time credits move for anyone. You may need to cancel it and create a new one with different hours.
