# How do I create a poll?

Ask your community a question and give them options to choose from.

Any member can create a poll.

1. Open Polls and press Create a poll. You can also press the + button at the top of the page and choose New Poll.
2. Type your Question.
3. Add a Description (optional) if people need more background.
4. Under Options, fill in at least two answers. Press Add Option to add more, up to six.
5. Choose a Poll Type: Standard (pick one) or Ranked Choice (order preferences).
6. Add a Category (optional), such as "Events".
7. Switch on Anonymous Voting if you want to hide who voted.
8. Set an End date (optional). Leave it blank for no deadline.
9. Press Create Poll.

## After you create it

You can see the results for each option while the poll is open. Other people see them when it closes. If the poll is not anonymous, you are told when someone votes.

As the creator, you can:

- press Export results as CSV to download the results as a spreadsheet file
- press Delete Poll to remove it. This cannot be undone.

You cannot edit a poll after you create it. Check your question and options before you press **Create Poll** .
